Run-on Sentences: Catch Them if You Can!
“Catch” these run-on sentences by adding a conjunction (and, so, or but) to join the two independent ideas. This worksheet contains 10 run-on sentences that can be used for classwork, homework, or a quiz. Students must identify where the run-on occurs and how to correctly join two independent clauses using selected coordinating conjunctions (and, so, or but). Answer key (included) explains how using each of the conjunctions affects the meaning of the sentence. Targeted to lower elementary school levels. (CCSS.CCRA.L.1)
