Close Reading Essentials Activity 1: Reading and Writing Terminology
Strong close reading skills help students across the curriculum, not just in Language Arts. This activity helps students recognize the terminology associated with close reading skills. Twenty questions total include matching and short answers. Instructors can use this activity as a springboard to discussions of reading and writing elements, such as persuasive writing, bias, evidence, and more.
